Alena Derby de Paz |
Alena has always been an adventure sports enthusiast, staying outdoors on her bikes, skis, or in the water in favor of training in a gym. That is until she found Pilates and discovered that it improved her performance in all of the other sports she loved to do. Bulky muscles became leaner, she walked taller, and felt more balanced and agile. As she has worked as an instructor or guide in many of her favorite sports (dive instructor, whitewater raft guide, ski resort guest services) it fell into place that she should teach Pilates and share the benefits. Alena trained through Power Pilates in Boca Raton, FL, and has since worked onstaff at Pilates of Boca, and at CORE Nantucket, and is now settling into Connecticut to be closer to her family in the northeast. |

Anna Moy |

Anna first experienced Pilates while on vacation in 1998 at the Canyon Ranch Spa in Tucson. Upon returning to New York, Anna began taking a weekly private session to combat the stress and long hours of her media buying job at a midtown advertising agency. Loving how the method gave her stronger abdominals and the sense of a long and lean body, Anna looked into becoming an instructor. In 2000, she was accepted into the Pilates Studio of New York’s Teacher Certification Program located at Drago’s Gymnasium (now known as Romana’s Pilates). She completed the program in the fall of 2001 and has been teaching ever since. In her spare time, Anna can be found ice skating, in a ballet class, tap dancing or reading a murder mystery.
